Travel Nova Scotia's "Glooscap Trail" and discover the Land of the Disappearing Ocean and a Prehistoric Paradise featuring: the highest recorded tides in the World; tidal bore rafting and viewing, and an amazing geological past including some of the oldest dinosaur bones and most significant fossil sites in North America. The Glooscap Trail traces the Bay of Fundy shoreline from Windsor to Amherst and is named after Glooscap, a character of native Mi'kmaq legend who was believed to have controlled the Fundy tides with his power.
Continue on Nova Scotia's "Evangeline Trail" to explore Yarmouth & the Acadian Shores, Whales and Wonder, and the beautiful Annapolis Valley highlighting national historic sites, Acadian heritage, whales and seabirds, and lush orchards and vineyards. The Evangeline Trail is a travelway that runs parallel to the Bay of Fundy coastline from Yarmouth to Mount Uniacke and is named after a narrative poem by Longfellow describing the tragic deportation of the Acadians from this area in 1755.
