PREHISTORIC PARADISE
The coast of the Bay of Fundy from Five Islands to Amherst, Nova Scotia is a true geological treasure. Some of the most significant fossil finds and dinosaur digs in North America have taken place in this pristine paradise of majestic shoreline. The Bay of Fundy tides have worked millions of years to shape and reveal gems, minerals, and some of the most beautiful landforms. Visit the Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro, the Joggins Fossil Cliffs, and the Five Islands and Cape Chignecto Provincial Parks to discover a phenomenal prehistoric past.
This region of the Bay is also part of Nova Scotia's "Glooscap Trail" - a scenic travelway that traces the Bay of Fundy shoreline from Windsor to Amherst and is named after Glooscap, an important character of native Mi'kmaq legend who was believed to have controlled the Fundy tides with his powers.
